267 recruits have passed out from the Navy Recruits Training School (NRTS) at Nutekpor- Sogakope in the Volta Region on Thursday, 13 December, 2018.
The objective of the training was to transform the recruits in testing their physical fitness, mental strength and endurance as well as discipline in order meet the standards required by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The parade climaxed their six-month (6) training and was characterized by spectacular military drill and displays to the admiration of all guests and family members of the recruits.
The Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer for the parade, former Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Naval Training Command, Commodore Michael Kweku Addison (Rtd), in his remarks commended the recruits for successfully undergoing such vigorous and intensive training cautioning the recruits not to involve themselves in any illicit acts that would put GAF in disrepute.
Awards were presented to recruits who distinguished themselves in various aspects of the training; Recruit Mensah Isaac Tweneboah won the Overall Best Recruit whereas the Best in Academics went to Recruit Adagblenya Doreen Edem, Recruit Tweneboah-Kodua Daniel received the Wheel Award. The Commanding Officer’s Special and Best in Drill Awards were presented to Recruits Alordeh Dickson and Aidoo Nyarko Emmanuel respectively.
Dignitaries present at the occasion were Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) for NAVTRAC, Commodore Eric Adu, Commanding Officer (CO) for Naval Recruit Training School, Lieutenant Commander Justice McCarthy Kuffour, Mr Kobla Mensah Wayome, the Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency and the District Chief Executive for South Tongu Constituency, Mr Emmanuel Louis Agamah.
