A Transfer of Authority Parade was held on Sunday, 14 September 2025, at Seth Obeng Camp, Al Qawzah (UNP 5-66), where United Nations Interrim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT) 91 has handed over command to GHANBATT 92.

Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Isaac Kobe Boako, the outgoing Commanding Officer (CO), transferred responsibility for Ghana Battalion’s area of responsibility in Southern Lebanon to Lt Col Evans Yaw Mensah Kumedjah.

In his address, Lt Col Boako expressed confidence in the incoming battalion, urging them to uphold the values of the Ghana Armed Forces and excel in their peacekeeping duties. He reflected on challenges faced during his tour, including escalated cross-border exchanges and the Israeli Defence Force’s ground offensive and Operation Northern Arrow. He also highlighted the establishment of a Tactical Operations Centre to strengthen security and enhance operational efficiency.

He further advised that the troops should remain vigilant, report incidents accurately, and watch out for unexploded ordnance left after recent hostilities.

The Sector West Commander, Brigadier General Colussi, commended GHANBATT 91 for professionalism, teamwork, and discipline, noting their duty was significant in contributing to the multinational force. He also congratulated GHANBATT 92 on assuming command.
