Ghana’s Defence Attaché to Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Sudan, Air Commodore Reginald Yaw Cole, has on Thursday 31 July 2025, paid a familiarisation visit to the Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT 91), serving the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

He was welcomed and briefed on the occurrences within GHANBATT’s Area of Operational Responsibility by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Kobe Boako.

The visit offered Air Commodore Cole, the opportunity to interact with personnel of GHANBATT where he conveyed the Chief of the Defence Staff’s appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice. He commended the Battalion for their professionalism and significant contributions to the peacekeeping mission, stating that their efforts continue to bring honour to Ghana.

He further encouraged the personnel to maintain the highest standards of discipline and excellence to sustain their relevance and impact in the mission area.

As part of the visit, Air Commodore Cole donated some medical equipment to the Battalion’s Level One Hospital to enhance healthcare. The medical equipment includes three (3) medical oxygen regulators, four (4) digital blood pressure (BP) monitors and three (3) digital BP cuffs.
