Brig Gen Agbebo Encourages Troops, Strengthens Security Collaboration in Upper West Region

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Worlanyo Agbebo has paid a 4-day operational visit to 10 Mechanized Battalion in the Upper West Region from 29 September to 2 October 2025.

As part of his visit, GOC held durbar with all ranks, commended them for their performance and urged them to intensify border patrols along the Ghana-Burkina Faso Border. He promised to deploy more resources to the various Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) to enable troops conduct smooth and successful border patrols and gather intelligence.

He charged troops to maintain discipline, uphold professionalism and remain committed to their duties. He also emphasised the importance of personal hygiene, physical fitness and care of equipment urging all to handle their Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) with utmost care.

Brig Gen Agbebo advised them to eschew recruitment fraud, use of hard drugs and sports betting. He encouraged them to be financially disciplined by cultivating the habit of saving for the sake of the future.

GOC as part of his operational visit inspected the various FOBs under construction in the command and paid a courtesy call on the Immigration and GRA-Custom Divisions Offices at Hamile and Tumu Border Posts. He advised the Commanders to continue cooperating with the Military and intensify joint patrols along the borders.
