The Ghana Navy has held an end of year thanksgiving religious parade at the Tema Naval Base on Sunday 10 December, 2023, on the theme: "Lift Up a Heart of Gratitude to God For His Graciousness Throughout The Year".

Rev Commander David Quayeson expressed gratitude to God for his goodness and admonished personnel to be grateful to God for who they are and whatever they have attained. He asked them to be appreciative of the family God has given them and as well spend time for them during during the festive season.

The Guest of Honour for the occasion, the Acting Chief of Naval Staff, Commodore (Cdre) Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo, on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Issah Yakubu, commended the command for its efficiency in the discharge of duties.

He stated that due to the combined efforts of Officers, Ratings and Civilian Staff of the Ghana Navy, the territorial waters of Ghana have been protected from all sea related crimes including piracy. He urged personnel to be vigilant and increase security during the festive season to prevent any unforeseen threat.

Cdre Kwafo celebrated the Naval Wives for their unflinching support to their husbands and the Ghana Navy as a whole.

Notable persons present at the event was the Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Cdre Maxwell Arhen, Chief Staff Officer, Cdre Prosper Modey, Acting Chief Staff Officer Administration, Captain (Capt) GN John Bekoe Wurapa, Acting Chief Staff Officer Operations, Capt Ebenezer Yirenkyi, Director Naval Manpower, Capt Festus Osei Brobbey and other staff officers.
