UNMISS GHANBATT 12 HOLDS END-OF-YEAR DURBAR

The Ghana Battalion 12 (GHANBATT 12) of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has held an end-of-year durbar at the Battalion Headquarters in Bentiu on Monday 30 December 2024.

During the event, the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Godfred Asampong, expressed appreciation for the dedication and efforts of all ranks, encouraging the troops to carry the same commitment into the New Year.

Lt Col Asampong highlighted the need for vigilance and professionalism, urging troops to stay alert and report any suspicious activities for timely action. He also underscored the importance of self-discipline and maintaining high standards while avoiding unprofessional relationships.

He advised troops to focus on training, physical fitness, and weapon handling to minimize the risk of accidents while on duty. Furthermore, he reminded personnel to adhere to the Ghana Armed Forces' social media policy and to be cautious about their online activities. He also emphasized that all personnel should demonstrate professional behavior during their leave periods.
