The United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) GHANBATT 90 has held its’ mid tour Religious Parade at the GHANBATT Headquarters, on Sunday 31 March, 2024. The event which brought together troops from various positions as well as Staff Officers serving with UNIFIL was dubbed, "Appreciating the blessings of God". The GHANBATT Chaplin, Rev Capt Eric Antwi who took his sermon from 1 Samuel 2:1-10, 1 Corinthians 4:6-8 and Mathew 17:1-8 was also grateful to God for his protection over the period. He further encouraged troops to always seek the face of the Lord in all their endeavours. Conducting the Islamic homily and prayers, the GHANBATT Imam Lt Abdul-Majeed Shuaib Suleiman took his sermon from Surah Al-Fussilat (Quran chapter 41:49-51) thanking God for seeing the GHANBATT through mid-half of the tour despite the instability of peace in the Area of Responsibility. He however entreated troops to remain loyal to the Command and the Ghana Armed Forces at large. The Contingent Commander for UNIFIL GHANBATT 90, Col George Abosi Oppong, in his remarks commended troops for their joint efforts and cooperation in fostering peace and stability in the region, adding that their unwavering discipline and professionalism would not go unnoticed.He urged drivers to exercise extreme caution and diligence in the discharge of their duties in order to prevent road accidents. Meanwhile, he admonished troops to remain vigilant at all times. Col Abosi Oppong extended his deepest gratitude to the Commanding Officer UNIFIL GHANBATT 90, Lt Col Frank Kwesi Agyeman and the entire troops of the GHANBATT for their service and sacrifices.
