The ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea Bissau Ghana Company 2 (ESSMGB GHANCOY 2) has held its mission accomplishment parade at the Bale Baz Square, 5Bn on Sunday 4 August, 2024. In a welcome address on behalf of the Chief of the Army Staff, Deputy Chief Defence Intelligence (DCDI), General Headquarters, Brigadier General Eric Konadu stated that command had continuously monitored the mission’s activities and noticed that its tour of duty had some challenges which affected its operational posture and other administrative arrangements in Guinea Bissau. Brig Gen Eric Konadu, however, commended troops for remaining positive and exhibiting powerful esprit de corps despite the challenges encountered and praised the troops for their focus, determination, and resilience, which led to a successful mission. He urged troops to conduct themselves similarly in future operations internally and externally, hinting that the Military High Command expects the same professionalism and excellence in the execution of internal security operations such as Operations Calm Life, Citadel, Gongong, Halt, Motherland, and Operation Peace Trail in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
