The Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Technical Training School (EMETTS) has held a 3-day inter-platoon sports competition from Tuesday, 26 March to Thursday, 28 March 2024 at the Chiringa and Nicholson Sports Complex, Burma Camp, Accra.The competition was aimed at identifying potential sportsmen and women for various Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) sports teams, as well as build comradeship and esprit de corps among students and instructors. The Guest of Honour, Colonel Ernest Nyuur, Director of Joint Doctrine, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), in his speech congratulated the students and staff of EMETTS for the level of sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed. He also encouraged other GAF training schools to emulate same. Col Nyuur further advise all to continue to remain fit for GAF and entreated them to be disciplined, loyal and professional in order to safeguard the image of GAF. The Commanding Officer (CO) of EMETTS, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Essilfie Odoom, urged participants to have a competitive spirit to play a fair game, and wished them the best as they began the competition.The platoons were Spanner, Hammer, Shackle and Punch. They participated in three disciplines, football, volleyball and basketball. The Hammer platoon emerged overall best in the competition. Also, was Tug of Peace competition between the instructors and the students.
