COAS PAYS MAIDEN VISIT TO 3 GARRISON

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona has embarked on his maiden visit to units within 3 Garrison on Tuesday 9 April, 2024. 

Among the units he visited were the 3 Infantry Battalion, Armour Training School, and 154 Armoured Regiment all in Sunyani where he outlined his vision and had engagements, operational assessments and morale-boosting interactions with troops.

He further utilized the visit to engage in strategic discussions with various Commanders, focusing on long-term planning, resource allocation, and coordination mechanisms aimed at addressing emerging security challenges and optimizing operational capabilities within the 3 Garrison and beyond.

The COAS received a centralised briefing presented by Lieutenant Colonels Abdul Bashiru Issah, Eric Tenadu and Baffour Sarpong on the administrative structure, logistics capabilities, welfare as well as challenges of their various units. He also used the opportunity to roll out plans during a centralised durbar with troops.

COAS and his entourage made a tour of some project cites within the Garrison. He also called on the Bono Regional Minister, Hon Justina Owusu Banahene.
