The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima has advised participants of the Africa Military Games to build relationships that contribute to continental stability.He made the clarion call during the opening ceremony of the 2nd Africa Military Games Abuja (AMGA) at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria. Speaking on the theme “Enhancing Military Cooperation through Sports”, the Vice President stressed the need for unity and solidarity among African nations, noting that the event demonstrate Africa’s commitment to unity through sports, which also symbolises a cooperative approach to addressing regional security challenges. On his part, the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, underscored Nigeria’s dedication to enhancing collaboration within the Organisation of Military Sports in Africa. General Musa described the event as an opportunity for African Armed Forces to engage in healthy competition, share best practices, and build relationships that contribute to continental stability. The colourful opening ceremony saw a smartly turned out parade formed by participants in their respective military uniforms. It featured gymnastic and cultural displays sending a strong message with a poise to leave a lasting legacy, inspire future generations of African military athletes and solidify the continent’s commitment to unity and cooperation.
