The 10th International Friendly Tournament between Burma Camp Tennis Club (BCTC) and Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) Country Club, Tennis Section-Nigeria came off at BCTC House on Saturday 9 March, 2024.

The annual tournament was organised in commemoration of the respective country’s Independence Days hence the Nigerian counterparts equally invite BCTC in October. It aims to strengthen diplomatic relations, promote the noble values of patriotism, social cohesion as well as emphasize the common heritage and identity of Africans.

President of BCTC, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah Larkai, said the competition would foster relationship between the two countries. He added that it was to also advance cooperation and interaction to enhance business opportunities. He urged all participants to maintain good relationship and continue to keep fit in their day-to-day activities.

Team captain for IBB Country Club Tennis Section, Dr Francis Adigwe, applauded executives and members of BCTC for the hospitality. He stated that participants from Nigeria always carry the report about the healthy environment and friendly nature of Ghanaians back to their country.

At the end of the keenly contested international friendly tennis competition, BCTC was declared winners. In addition to the on-court action, the tournament featured traditional cuisine and lively celebrations that highlighted the unique heritage of both Ghana and Nigeria.
