The 7 Garrison has observed the annual Security Services National Day of Prayer at St Ignatius Catholic Church, 66 Artillery Regiment, Ho, on Thursday 19 September 2024.
The event, themed "Pray for the Well-Being of Ghana and it Shall Be Well with You," brought together security personnel who prayed for the nation's peace and stability ahead of the general elections.
The Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jalali Din Ibrahim, remarked that the gathering symbolised the collective commitment of the security services to ensuring peace, unity, and stability in the country. He welcomed the unity of faith displayed through Christian and Muslim prayers, emphasising that it served as a beacon of hope for the entire nation.
Lt Col Ibrahim described the months ahead as crucial, hence the need to pray for wisdom for leaders, peace in communities and the safety of those tasked to maintain law and order.
The Guest of Honour, Oti Regional Minister Hon Daniel Machator, urged all present to pray for peace and stability. He encouraged participants to pray not only for themselves and the safety of security personnel but also for the nation's leaders to remain committed to upholding the values of democracy and peaceful coexistence.
