3 Infantry Battalion (3Bn) and the security agencies within its area of responsibility have conducted a three-day field exercise code named " EXERCISE FLAMING SPEARS" from 6-8 November 2023.

The exercise, conducted at three distinctive District Assemblies, namely, Ahafo Kenyasi in the Aho Region, Dormaa Ahenkro and Wenchi, all in the Bono Region, saw the security services leveraging on the expertise of each other for easy synchronization of tactics, techniques and procedures relevant for joint operations.

In the three District Assemblies, different sets of exercises were conducted to enable participants build up knowledge and sharpen their skills in reediness to respond swiftly to any security threat within the region. 

The exercises were the conduction of crowd control drills at the premises of New Mount Ghana in Ahafo Kenyasi, cordon and search exercises at Dormaa Ahenkro and a raid exercise in the Wenchi District.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command, Brig Gen Charles Agyemang-Prempeh commended all the security services for their dexterity and posture throughout the training. He charged them to keep the knowledge acquired handy to enable them deal with the looming threats and terrorist attacks in the sub regions.

He advised personnel to continuously work on their physical fitness, drills, mental stability and strength so as to stay focused and get the work done.

As part of the exercise, indigents of Duasidan and Amikrom in Dormaa Central and Wenchi Districts, respectively, were screened for breast cancer, malaria, and BP checks with medication given to them.
