A Defence Civilian Staff (DCS) of the 2 Infantry Battalion, Mrs Blandina Baolenwo Atiase has presented the Nursing Clinical Excellence Award she won during this year’s 5th Nursing and Midwifery Excellence and Hall of Fame Awards to the Commanding Officer (CO) 2 Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Philip Tetteh Nartey. The presentation was done on Wednesday, 10 September 2025 at the Battalion Headquarters, Myohaung Barracks, Takoradi. Lt Col Nartey congratulated her for winning such a prestigious award and commended her for her zeal and devotion in serving the 2 Medical Reception Station (2MRS) as a Paediatric Nurse Specialist. He encouraged her to continue to work hard and serve as inspiration for others to emulate. Mrs Atiase is an accomplished Paediatric Nurse with 19 years of dedicated service who has spearheaded initiatives such as Reproductive and Child Welfare Clinic at the Airforce Medical Centre, establishing a functional paediatric ward at 2MRS, and successfully advocating for the construction of a two-unit paediatric washroom also at 2MRS, amongst others.
