Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Kingsley Birikorang has handed over command of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), to Lt Col James Palmer at a ceremony held on Friday, 12 September 2025, at the TRADOC, Whistler Barracks, Teshie.

The Guest of Honour, Deputy Commandant of TRADOC, Air Commodore Edward Gyamfi, described the change of command as a vital military tradition that ensures continuity of leadership, stability and effectiveness of command.

He commended Lt Col Birikorang’s exceptional leadership, noting his remarkable achievements in operational readiness, training, administration and troop welfare.

Air Commodore Gyamfi also welcomed the incoming Commanding Officer, Lt Col Palmer, reminding him of his new role as both an honour and responsibility requiring service, sacrifice and accountability.

In his farewell remarks, Lt Col Birikorang expressed gratitude to the Military High Command for the confidence reposed in him, and thanked personnel of TRADOC for their loyalty and dedication, urging them to continue to support the new Commanding Officer.
