69 Airborne Force holds closing ceremony for Air Force Special Task Unit Course 1/24

The Ghana Air Force Special Task Unit Course 1/24, organised by the 69 Airborne Force in Tamale, has ended on Friday 18 October 2024.

The ceremony took place at the Forecourt of Air Force Base Tamale, with Close Quarter Battle drills demonstrated by the 39 course participants.

The Guest of Honour, Commander Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah Larkai, thanked all participants and congratulated them on the successful completion of the course. He acknowledged that although the training had been challenging, the participants persevered and thrived. He advised them to continue giving their best when assigned tasks, as much would be expected of them in the future.

He urged the participants to lead by example, inspire those around them, and conduct themselves with pride, discipline, and integrity.

The Commanding Officer of the 69 Airborne Force, Louis Yaw Boakye, emphasised that the collaboration between the Ghana Army and the Air Force demonstrated the strength of joint efforts within the Ghana Armed Forces, underscoring the critical importance of inter-service cooperation.

He further noted that the training had enhanced participants’ physical fitness, developed their combat skills, and fostered a mindset required for effective base camp security. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief of the Army Staff and the Chief of Air Staff for the opportunity to conduct the course. He also thanked the Commander of Air Force Base Tamale for his support.
