As part of efforts to observe and promote the global breast cancer awareness month, GHANBATT Level 1 Hospital has organised a breast cancer sensitization and screening exercise for over 80 females at Guit County in Bentiu State, South Sudan on Saturday, 21 October 2023. The exercise comprised the creation of awareness on breast cancer through education, self-examination and general screening by the GHANBATT medical staff. GHANBATT Level 1 Hospital together with the female engagement team, led by Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Lieutenant Commander Leslie Kojo Tay and Medical Officer (MO) Lieutenant (GN) Marie Darko sensitised the female populace on the signs, symptoms, causes and effects of breast cancer. The exercise was climaxed with breast screening to ascertain the health condition of females present.
