The Ghanaian Battalion deployed to United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) (GHANBATT 92) has commenced a pre-deployment Military Skill Validation Training (MSVT) at the Army Peace Operations Training School (APOTS), Bundase, on Monday, 14 July 2025. The seven-week MSVT, which aims at enhancing the operational competence of personnel, commenced just after the closing of Mission Leadership Training (MLT), a three-week programme designed to equip key appointment holders with essential knowledge in Military Peacekeeping Intelligence, Military Decision-Making Process and engagement strategies. The Guest of Honour for the ceremony, Chief Coordinator Army Training Command, Colonel (Col) Prince Tandoh, commended the participants of MLT for their commitment and urged them to draw on experiences from previous peacekeeping missions to deepen their understanding and resilience. “The Ghana Armed Forces has couched an enviable niche for itself internationally as an eminent force in international peacekeeping theatres. Your role is to further consolidate this position and raise it even to higher pedestals”, he added.
