RCOA, RAFOWA HOLD THANSKGIVING SERVICE

The Retired Commission Officers Association (RCOA) and the Retired Armed Forces Officers Wives Association (RAFOWA) have held their 17th Annual Thanksgiving service on Sunday11 February, 2024.

The service, held under the theme; “Let Integrity and Faithfulness Guide Us” at the RCOA Club House in Accra brought retired commissioned officers and their families together to thank God for his mercies throughout the previous year and also honour some individuals for their services to the club.

Guest of Honour for the occasion, the Deputy Minister for Defence, Honourable Kofi Amankwa-Manu, expressed gratitude for being part of the celebration. He said there was anxiety among the citizenry because of the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections and urged all to pray for God’s faithfulness and mercies for the leaders to successfully steer the affairs of the nation.  

Hon Amankwa-Manu indicated that the Ministry of Defence and Controller and Accountant General’s Department were working to address the challenges with the payment of widows pension to military spouses.

The anniversary also featured series of engaging activities and programs designed to foster camaraderie and celebrate the achievements of the Association. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the RCOA Achievement Award to the manager of the ROCA Club House, Mr Joseph Kweku Anim. Miss Evelyn Ohene was also honoured for her exceptional and meritorious service to the Association. They both received an undisclosed cash award and a plaque.

In attendance were the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, Service Chiefs, Commandants, Senior Officers both serving and retired.
