The Manager, Elsie Initiative Fund, Ms Deborah Warren-Smith and some members of United Nations (UN) Women in Peace Operations at UN Women have called on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama at his office, Burma Camp on Thursday, 7 December 2023. Ms Warren-Smith's visit was aimed at strengthening the progress and assistance of the Elsie Projects implemented for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), while participating in the UN Ministerial Peacekeeping Conference. Vice Admiral Amoama stated the importance of women and the partnership between GAF and the Elsie Initiative, highlighting the significant benefits. CDS added that the Elsie Initiative has significantly contributed to the increase in female participation in UN Peacekeeping and other deployments.
