The family of the late Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Kwaku Adu-Bediako (Rtd), have launched a book to honour his memory at the Burma Hall, Burma Camp on Thursday14 December, 2023.

The 50-page book explores the author's life experiences and provides a detailed account of the author's humble beginnings, achievements and his dedication to help others.

The Deputy Chief of Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Michael Appiah-Agyekum, praised the late Brig General and his intake for their invaluable contribution to the Ghana Armed Forces when Ghana was transitioning from colonial rule.

He added that the launch honours the late Brig Gen's life and serves as a shining example for the young and up-coming personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces to emulate. “It is necessary that we are guided by the experiences of our forbears. Such an avenue offers view for transformation attitude to work and social life in general”. He added.

The Deputy Chief of Staff (Admin) urged GAF Senior Officers and personnel to document significant life details to make themselves valuable subjects for future study. Adding that, posthumous work provides an opportunity to enhance practical knowledge and diversify conceptual toolbox options.

A former Chief of the Defence Staff, Major General Edwin Sam (Rtd) admitted that the current CDS has implored them to put their stories into books so that others would acquaint themselves with some of the traditions copied from the colonial era. He stated that some retired military officers are documenting their stories, hoping it would serve as a learning resource for GAF personnel and encourage others to do the same.
