The Acting Director General of the Department of Public Relations, Captain (GN) Veronica Adzo Arhin, has urged students of the Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Institute (GAFPRI) to harness the power of social capital for professional growth. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Basic Journalism Course 1–25 on Thursday 17 July 2025, Captain (GN) Arhin underscored the invaluable power of establishing good social capital. She stated that building strong networks with other professionals would pave the way for personal growth and advancement. She reminded the students that the Ghana Armed Forces is founded on discipline, teamwork, and sacrifice, and urged them to uphold these values throughout their training. She also stressed the need for students to respect authority, maintain discipline, and foster a collaborative learning environment. The sixteen-week course is designed to equip participants with essential skills in military reporting, news writing, still and motion picture photography. This will, however, position students to tell the story of the Ghana Armed Forces with accuracy and professionalism.
