National Executives of the Ghana Bar Association led by its President, Mr Yaw Acheampong Boafo, called on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah at the General Headquarters on Thursday 4 April, 2024.

During their interaction, Mr Boafo congratulated the CDS on his appointment and engaged him on ways to better collaborate to promote peace and security in Ghana.

The CDS, on his part, welcomed and commended them for the steps taken to collaborate with the Armed Forces. He stated his willingness to further explore ways to deepen the collaboration between them for a more secured and peaceful country.

Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah added that the fight against terrorism and insecurity in contemporary times demanded a multi-sectorial effort, therefore their collaboration was necessary. He appealed to the judiciary to fast track the prosecution of culprits arrested by the security services in hotspots.
