The Gender Perspective in Combat Operations Course has commenced at the Signal Training School, Burma Camp, on Tuesday, 16 September 2025 with 30 participants drawn from various Units within the Army.

The 3-day programme is designed to equip personnel with the skills and frameworks needed to integrate gender-sensitive approaches into combat, peacekeeping, and disaster response operations.

The Chief G7 Training at the Army Headquarters, Colonel Agboado stated that gender integration is vital for operational effectiveness, intelligence gathering and improved mission outcomes, particularly in civilian protection. He urged participants to make the most out of the training by actively engaging and applying gender perspectives in operational planning.

He also conveyed the support of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, and commended the Army G7 Branch, the Gender Advisor, and the Signal Training School for facilitating the course.

A Representative of the European Union (EU) Military Attaché, Mr. Ansgar Glatze reaffirmed the EU’s continued partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and noted that the course forms part of a wider capacity-building support which includes equipment donations to GAF’s Engineers Operations.
