The Ghanaian Combat Team serving with the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau Ghana Company 3 (ESSMGB GHANCOY 3) has donated assorted food items, toiletries, cleaning materials and medical supplies to "Lar de Vida-Bethel" Orphanage at Quelele in Bissau on Wednesday 25 December 2024. The team, made up of selected members of GHANCOY 3, was led by the Second-in-Command, Major Edward Alotei Thompson. The donation forms part of a series of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the local populace within Bissau. The items were presented to the Executive Director of the "Lar de Vida-Bethel" Orphanage, Mrs Francisca Maria de Conceicao, the Administrator, and other staff of the orphanage. Pleased with the gesture of solidarity, the Executive Director expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the orphanage to the entire ESSMGB, particularly GHANCOY 3, for remembering her children on such an important day. The children and staff were served with food and drinks as part of the celebration. The children also participated in activities such as musical chairs and "pick and act" to entertain themselves.
