COAS VISITS FOBs IN VOLTA AND OTI REGION

COAS receives first hand information on the security situation and the challenges of troops

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu and his entourage paid a 2-day operational visit to the Forward Operation Bases (FOB) of 16 Artillery Brigade in the Volta and Oti Regions from 30 September to 1 October 2025.

The visit was aimed at assessing the operational readiness, welfare and morale of the troops stationed in the various FOBs and evaluate the effectiveness of the on-going security situation in both regions.

The COAS commended troops of the various FOBs for the professionalism exhibited over the period and urged them to maintain high morale despite the challenging nature of their deployment.

He also paid courtesy calls on the Oti Regional Minister, Hon John Kwadwo Gyapong, at Dambai, Municipal Chief Executive of Nkwanta, Hon Joseph Antwi and the District Chief Executive for Biakoye District, Hon Eric Oppong.

Major General Gbetanu also paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Chonke, Daasebre Atamafowiese Bonjah II.
