Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has joined the commemoration of the Christiansborg Crossroad Shooting incident on Wednesday 28 February, 2024.The solemn commemorative parade consists of personnel from the Ghana Army, Navy, Air Force, Police Service and the Veterans attracted traditional authorities, students and some government officials. It involved flag-raising and wreath-laying held to honour Sergeant (Sgt) Adjetey, Corporal (Cpl) Attipoe and Private (Pte) Odartey Lamptey who were killed by colonial police whilst matching to Osu Castle to present a petition to the then Governor and Commander-in-Chief, Sir Gerald Creasy. Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia laid a wreath on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana. The CDS laid on behalf of the security services, National Chairman of the Veterans Administration of Ghana, Major General Clayton Banuba Yaachie (Rtd), laid on behalf of the Veterans. The Osu Alata Mantse, Nii Kwabena Bonne (V), laid on behalf of Traditional Authorities and Mr Nii Cornelius Adjetey, a representative of Sgt Adjetey’s family laid on behalf of the fallen soldiers.
