The ceremony, observed quarterly, saw the Ghana Navy hand over responsibility to the Ghana Air Force. The significance of the ceremony is to ensure the alertness and readiness of guards and maximum security at the duty point at the seat of Government. The guest of honour was the President and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo. Also present were the Minister for Defence, Honourable Dominic Nitiwul, Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare and the Service Chiefs. The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah was among distinguished personalities who witnessed the 40th ceremonial Guard Changing parade at the Jubilee House on Monday, 24 June 2024.
