The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama has commissioned a remolded accoutrements outlet, christened 'The Uniform Shop', at the Ghana Armed Forces Institute (GAFI) in Burma Camp on Friday 15 December, 2023.The retail shop, which initially sold approved clothing and accessories to troops has now been upgraded to take care of units and office supplies. Vice Admiral Amoama praised the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shop, Sedoame Fiawoo for his hard work, leadership, and insight, leading to the expansion of the shop, as well as the establishment of smaller outlets in other Garrisons. He explained that the opening of The Uniform Shop was timely as such would maintain the standard set for Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and be able to serve the increasing number of troops due to the to the expansion of GAF.He urged the leadership of the shop to continually comply with dress regulations of GAF and supply only the prescribed clothing and accessories since the service was keen on unparalleled and uncompromising clothing standards. The CDS also advised management of the shop to be open to suggestions, recommendations, and criticisms in order to achieve greater success in their endeavours.The Manager of the shop, Madam Delali Aidan Fiawoo, expressed gratitude to the General Headquarters Logistics (GHQ LOG), 49 Engineer Regiment and its Technical Advice Team for supervising the design and construction of the remolded shop. She hinted that the shop would not only offer quality merchandise, but foster an environment where service personnel would find the essentials they need. She expressed gratitude to CDS, Service Chiefs, Deputy Chief of Staff (Logistics), Major General Osei-Owusu, the Director Supply and Transport, Colonel Fuseini Abdulai Natongma and Director Procurement, Colonel Simon Gbezeh for helping to realise the vision of The Uniform Shop.
