The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, John Dramani Mahama has opened the Heads of Mission Conference and Orientation Programme for newly appointed envoys on Monday, 1 September 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra. Speaking on the theme “Harnessing the Dividends of Diplomacy for Ghana’s Reset Agenda”, President Mahama called for a shift in mindset to advance the reset agenda by prioritising national interests, ensuring mission readiness and effectively projecting the image of Ghana abroad. He urged the envoys to deliver tangible results by expanding export markets, mobilising diaspora investment and restoring public trust through transparency and accountability. He further charged them to serve Ghana with confidence and ensure that diplomacy translates into measurable national gains. The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Okudzeto Ablakwa stressed that the reset agenda must influence all sectors of national service. He encourged the envoys to align their duties with the strategic priorities of Ghana and to represent the nation with professionalism and excellence. The Ga Mantse, King Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II congratulated the envoys on their appointments and urged them to embody the values of Ghana in all their engagements. He encouraged the envoys to promote trade, particularly in key local industries, dismantle barriers to commerce and advance cultural diplomacy as a means of strengthening global partnerships and reaffirming Ghana’s standing in the international community.
