The Commanding Officer (CO) of the Ghanaian Battalion serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS GHANBATT 11), Lt Col Dominic Ampomah has entreated personnel to remain professional and resolute since they form an integral part of the Battalion. His vision, on the other hand, would be to maintain a disciplined and motivated GHANBATT that is highly professional and equipped to undertake all assigned tasks underpinned by core values such as the welfare of troops, mutual respect, sense of initiative, professionalism, respect for locals and UN staff amongst others. He encouraged personnel to exercise their sense of initiative and remain disciplined in the discharge of their duties. Lt Col Ampomah made these assertions during his maiden interactive durbar held at the Battalion Headquarters in Bentiu, South Sudan on Friday 20 October, 2023. He advised troops to exercise self-restrain at all times and abide by the Command Policy Guidelines. He further admonished troops to be mindful of their health by participating actively in the GHANBATT physical training programs and avoid excessive intake of alcohol. He finally urged personnel to exercise their faiths through prayers and active participation in Church and Mosque programs.
