The One Medical Reception Station (1MRS) in Michel Camp has held a sendoff party and the West African Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) at its premises on Friday, 22 December 2023. The guest of honour for the occasion, Commander Rear 1 Battalion of Infantry (1BN), Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Frank Adams, acknowledged the continuous sacrifices and dedication of medical personnel. He expressed gratitude to them for delivering on their mandate as the major health care provider to personnel and their families as well as indigenes of the surrounding communities. The Director, Nursing Services, Col Rex Adzagba, stated that the hard work, dedication, commitment, and sacrifices of the retirees were duly appreciated and worth emulating. He therefore urged them to be grateful to God for long life as they enjoy a well deserving retirement. Awards were presented to some deserving medical personnel and retirees. Warrant Officer Second Class (WOII) Ayiku Gideon was awarded as the Best Male Staff whilst the Principal Medical Officer, Faustian Odoi was awarded as the Best Female Staff. A special award was presented to Lieutenant (GN) Richmond Agyei and WOII Ayiku Gideon. Awards were also presented to three retirees in the persons of Ema Tekyiwaa Nartey, Mrs Georgina Kyeh Baafour and Mr Stephen Duodu.
