Five-member delegation of the Swiss Armed Forces based at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), led by the Deputy Director Training, Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Adombire-Akologo have paid a familiarization visit to the 37 Military Hospital on Tuesday, October 10 2023.

The visitors, Colonel Thomas Oti, Colonel Adrian Fraiermuth, Major Alan Mc Garrily, Major Thwaiban Thuchchathowan and Captain Gall, were given first-hand information on the activities of the hospital in order to compare it to Switzerland and other African countries.

Commanding Officer (CO) 37 Military Hospital, Col Richard Mensah described the hospital as a 500-bed facility that takes care of troops, Defence Civilian Staff and their families and the general public. He also briefed them on the role that medical staff play at the Bundase Training Centre in preparing troops to embark on United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.

In a related development, Captains Van Hout Dries and Karel Christiaens, members of the Belgium Military medical team have visited the hospital to ascertain services of the hospital in order to recommend the facility to Belgians living in Ghana for healthcare assistance.

Commander 37 Military Hospital, Brigadier General Prosper Kwame Ayibor assured the Belgian team of the best medical care that the hospital gives to its clients.

The Administrative Medical Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Alex Abiti walked them on the history, organogram and activities of the hospital.
