Maker’s House Chapel International has donated a cheque of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh₵ 50,000.00) to the Dialysis Unit of the 37 Military Hospital on Tuesday 10 October, 2023.

The gesture was support to kidney patients to undergo dialysis and lessen the cost of treatment announced by the Korle Bu Teaching.

Head of the Dialysis Unit of the 37 Military Hospital, Dr Louis Siriboe said cost of dialysis was increasing, making it difficult for patients to afford hence the donation would help defray some of the bills. He hinted of a worrying situation where some patients have reduced the number of dialysis section recommended for the due to cost.

Dr Siriboe expressed his gratefulness to the church for their benevolence and looked forward to other corporate organizations and individuals to do same. He made mention of a fund for patients with acute kidney injury and cases that are easily reversible, urging individuals and organization to contribute to it.

He said since kidney transplant has begun in Ghana, he hopes the number of patients on dialysis would reduce when patients are advised to have a transplant.

Head of Events for Marker’s House Chapel International, Mr. Prince Markey in an interview disclosed that reaching out to the vulnerable has been a regular activity of the church but the first time it was donating to 37 Military Hospital in support of kidney patients.

Mr. Prince Markey noted that news regarding dialysis and the cost involved broke out, the founder Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye and the church as a whole decided to support the 37 and Korle Bu Teaching Hospitals adding that the church has also pledged to donate every month to support the dialysis units.
