The Jungle Warfare School (JWS) has organized an induction religious parade for recruits of the Basic Infantry Training Course 3-2023 (BITC 3-23) on Sunday, 8 October 2023 at Akim Achiase, Eastern Region.

The parade forms a formal admission of a total 305 recruits into the Ghana Army to begin their journey as professional soldiers of GAF.

During the ceremony, the Chaplain for JWS, Lieutenant (Lt) (Rev Fr) Emmanuel Oppong, delivered a message on the theme "Enduring to The End." He advised the recruits to persevere, emphasizing that the training would shape them into outstanding soldiers.

He encouraged them to strive for excellence in their journey to become skilled military personnel and urged the recruits to remain focused and seek the grace of God throughout their time at JWS.

The Chief Training Officer, Army Training Command, Colonel (Col) Rafat Awudu who represented the Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Thoms Oppong Pepprah and Commander Army Training Command, Brigadier General Stephen Woseadzikpo Kweku Parbey, acknowledged the significance of the decision of the recruits to pursue a military career, describing it as a calling.

He stressed that the service demanded the highest level of sacrifice and dedication, indicating that the rigorous training sets the military profession apart. He explained that the 24-week program would equip them with fundamental skills and character necessary for their chosen career path.

Col Awudu appreciated parents, guardians, and relatives of the recruits for supporting and allowing their loved ones to serve the nation.
