Mr Francis Boateng has been adjudged Star of the Season, followed by Mr Haruna Issaka and Miss Francisca Andoh during the awards ceremony held at the Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Institute, Burma Camp on Thursday 27 June, 2024.
The Defence Civilian Staff (DCS) Star of the Season Award scheme was introduced by the Leadership of DCS in support of Department of Public Relations to celebrate and recognize exceptional staff for their achievement and remarkable dedication to work.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Director General Department of Public Relations (DGPR), Brigadier General Eric Aggrey Quashie advised personnel of the Department to respect the expertise of colleagues and celebrate the achievements of each other.
He spoke against the tendency of undermining the efforts and achievements of colleagues and superiors adding that it creates a situation where individuals were not encouraged to give off their best, leading to low productivity.
Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Ernestina Assan congratulated the award winners and hinted that, the initiative was to encourage the winners and inspire others to put in the necessary efforts.
Mr Opata Nanor Tetteh, Chairman of the DCS Forum in his remarks stated that the awards scheme was instituted to celebrate and honour high standards of performance among DCS. He advised DCS to remain committed to their duties, exhibit excellent work ethics and maintain high standards of efficiency in their work.
