Former Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Air Marshal Michael Samson Oje (Rtd) has extolled Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Major General Irvine Nii-Ayitey Aryeetey for improving on the excellent legacy of his predecessors.

He gave the hearty commendation at a striking regimental dinner on Friday, 11August 2023 at the Otu Barracks, Teshie to mark the completion of a rigorous 11-month training period undertaken by the Senior Command Course 44.

The former CDS who was the Guest of Honour at the occasion, beamed with delight at the transformation of the college into a top-tier educational and learning hub; a feat made possible through the innovative efforts of the Commandant and the College Control Board.

During his inspiring speech, Air Marshal Oje (Rtd) urged the students to be advocates for unity and positivity, firmly believing their newly-acquired knowledge would prove impactful in their respective fields, workplaces and countries.

He dwelled on the significance of perpetual training and practice, asserting that a well-trained and dedicated officer not only brings joy to a commander but also ensures an effective fighting force able to uphold the nation's integrity with ease.

Air Marshal Oje (Rtd) shared some profound advice with the students, encouraging them to be bold, principled, and ready to accept responsibilities along with their outcomes. He expressed his faith in the solid training they have received, equipping them with excellent character, strong morals, and a respect for law and justice.

The former CDS underscored that the military stands as the nation's conscience, thereby affirming the necessity for quick responses, sacrifices, sound judgement and professionalism. He graciously thanked the Commandant for the honour of attending the event, extending his congratulations to all for their successful completion of a momentous chapter in their careers at the college.

The event closed with recognitions handed out to the course's extraordinary performers.
