The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama has unveiled a state-of-the-art conference hall named ‘SETH AMOAMA AUDITORIUM’ at the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) in Teshie on Tuesday, 30 January 2024.

The auditorium, which was constructed by the Government of Ghana to support the expansion of the Armed Forces, has a seating capacity of 640.

Aside this, CDS inaugurated the GMA French Language Laboratory, funded by the French Embassy, Ghana, at a cost of Five Hundred Thousand Cedis (GH₵500,000) and presented a 65-Seater bus to the Academy.


He unveiled other facilities such as Lt Gen OB Akwa Lecture Block, Maj Gen CK Awitty Model Room, Brig Gen Emmanuel Okyere Accommodation Block, and Maj Gen EK Sam Accommodation and inspected four (4) Squad Sheds named after four (4) retired Warrant Officers of the Academy.

On behalf of the Military High Command, Vice Admiral Amoama expressed appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for his support in transforming the Academy into a world-class institution.

The French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules Armand Aniambossou, praised the Government of Ghana and the Military High Command for the excellent facilities available at the Academy. He emphasized the importance of the French language since Ghana has been surrounded by francophone countries; This, he said has the potential to boost trade.

The Commandant GMA, Maj Gen Charles Awitty acknowledged the Government of Ghana, CDS, the Military High Command, the French government and numerous individuals for their contributions towards the growth of GMA and GAF. "In complementing the efforts of the central government to improve facilities in the GMA, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama through his leadership initiated and undertook some quick impact projects to optimize the efficient functioning of the facilities”, he added.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters Maj Gen Nicholas Peter Andoh, Chief of the Naval Staff Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, Commandant Training and Doctrine Command Rear Admiral Eric Adu, former CDS Maj Gen EK Sam and some senior officers from the General Headquarters.
