The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama has held an end of year reception at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Command Officer’s Mess on Wednesday, 13 December 2023.
The event which commenced with a health walk from Nicholson Sports Stadium, through the principal streets of Burma Camp to the Command Officer’s Mess, provided an opportunity for all ranks to reflect over activities of the year, as well as socialize to enhance the esprit de corps among them.
Addressing participants, Vice Admiral Amoama underscored the need for troops to take stock the successes chalked and come out with strategies to overcome challenges in the festive season, adding that their collective job output has contributed to peace and security in the country.
The CDS expressed gratitude to God for his grace over personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces and their families and commended the efforts of troops who were deployed along the frontiers and various peacekeeping missions for maintaining the highest level of integrity.
The CDS further stated that the professionalism exhibited by troops over the years gave Ghana the opportunity to host the 5th edition of the United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference, the first of its kind in Africa.
CDS advised all to augment their efforts to achieve greater s in the coming years, and also entreated them to remain steadfast regardless of challenges.
