The 1 Infantry Battalion (1BN) has held an end of year thanksgiving service for the Unit and Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) trainees at the Pentecost International Worship Center in Michel Camp on Sunday 17 December, 2023.
Preaching under the theme; “In all things, Give thanks to God”, Rev Major Klottey expressed gratitude to God for his goodness and protection over the Unit and the lives of the GPHA trainees. He also admonished the trainees to be grateful at all times and forgive one another as many times as possible.
The Guest of Honour for the occasion, the Corporate Human Resource Manager, GPHA, Mr Kwabena Adu Safo acknowledged the invaluable contributions of 1BN towards the peace and security of Ghana, adding that the devotion and sacrifices in the discharge of their duties and relentless services to the good people of Ghana was deeply appreciated.
He noted that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has continually supported the Authority by training personnel of its the Security Department.
Mr Adu Safo admonished GHPA trainees to diligently go through the training as every aspect of it has been designed to help shape them into astute professionals capable of assisting GPHA to effectively deliver on its mandate of providing unique, safe and secured ports management in Ghana.
Furthermore, he advised the trainees to rely on integrity, dedication and commitment which are virtues of becoming professionals. Adding that the rigorous training has been crafted to refine their professional proficiencies.
Notable persons present at the event were the Port Security Manager, Colonel (Col) Benjamin Boamah, Commanding Officer (CO) Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Daniel Ampadu, Commander Rear, 1BN Lt Col Frank Adams, CO Army Recruit Training School (ARTS), Lt Col Abdul Wahab Issah, Deputy Security Manager, GPHA, Mr Isaac Kofi Aidoo, and HR for GPHA Security, Mrs Florence Hagan.
