The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command (N/COMD), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Worlanyo Agbebo has paid an operational visit to 11 Mechanized Battalion in Bawku on Thursday, 25 September 2025. The visit was aimed at obtaining first-hand information on the recent happenings within the region. GOC visited Binduri, Kulungugu, and other detachments, interacted with the troops and encouraged them to remain professional despite the challenges within the area, and restore calmness in Bawku and the Upper East Region as a whole. The visit saw the GOC paying a courtesy call on the Ghana Immigration and GRA-CustomS Division Offices at the Kulungugu Border Post to interact with Station Commanders. He was grateful for their collaborative effort in maintaining law and order in Bawku and its environs Brig Gen Agbegbo also inspected the troops accommodation area and a four 4-bedroom house which was handed over to the detachment by the Pusiga District Assembly to accommodate troops. He advised them to keep the accommodation and their surroundings clean at all times.
