AFTRAC ENDS SQUADRON COMMANDERS COURSE

The Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC), Tamale has held a closing ceremony for Squadron Commanders Course 1/2025 on Thursday 16 October 2025 at the Air Force Leadership Training Command.

The 8-week intensive course was aimed at enhancing officers’ knowledge in staff work, operational planning, communication, command and leadership skills as well as air operations within the Ghana Air Force.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Worlanyo Agbebo, lauded the participants for their resilience and determination throughout the course and extended a special commendation to Squadron Leader Philippine Gifty Adjei-Affum for emerging as the overall best participant.

He also commended the Air Force Headquarters and AFTRAC for organising the course to enhance professional knowledge and confidence of officers towards providing air power for national defence and beyond, expressing optimism that the training has provided a firm foundation for Senior Command and Staff Course.

Commander AFTRAC, Air Commodore Richard Danso extended his appreciation to the Chief of Air Staff and his staff officers for their unwavering support in making the course a success. He further applauded participants for their high level of commitment, discipline and cooperation. He expressed optimism that the knowledge gained would be pivotal throughout all phases of their military career.

The participants presented an air conditioner and pressure washing machine to AFTRAC as a memento of their training.
