The United States Office of Security Cooperation (OSC) and WNK Aviation have demonstrated “The Titan” counter-drone system to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in Barwah Barracks, Tamale.

The demonstration highlighted the system’s operational capabilities for potential GAF acquisition and aimed to strengthen collaboration between the OSC and WNK Aviation.

The Titan is a portable, deployable counter-drone system designed to secure perimeters, provide automated identification, and neutralize drone threats across through adaptive countermeasures. Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), the Titan system detects and responds to drones while minimizing interference with nearby communications.

AI-based framework enables Titan to stay ahead of evolving threats and delivers layered Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) defence. With a setup time of less than two minutes, the system requires no advanced signals expertise or extensive training, thereby reducing operator load.

The 6 Garrison Commander and the Base Commander Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai underscored the importance of equipping GAF with advanced technologies in support of its ongoing expansion efforts. He emphasized that fostering teamwork among the various arms of the GAF, and particularly within the units of the Garrison, is critical for mitigating emerging threats.

The Director General Training at the General Headquarters, Brigadier General Winfried Dzandu-Hedidor, commended the Commanding Officer 69 Airborne Force, Lt Col Louis Yaw Boakye and Commanding Officer 93 Signal Regiment, Lt Col Benjamin Adjei for organizing the counter drone demonstration. He expressed appreciation to the Military High Command for prioritizing counter-drone training and facilitating this demonstration. He also extended his gratitude to the WNK Aviation team for their thorough execution of the demonstration, stating his optimism that this collaboration would be further strengthened.
