UNMISS GH 12 COMMEMORATES 79TH REMEMBRANCE DAY

The Ghana Battalion 12, serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), has  joined Mongolia Battalion, Ghana Formed Police Unit, and Canadian Armed Forces staff officers to commemorate the 79th Remembrance Day on Monday 11 November 2024.

The brief, solemn ceremony held at GHANBATT Headquarters in Bentiu included two minutes of silence, flag hoisting, wreath-laying, and other formalities to honour soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty during the World Wars.

The ceremony was attended by the Acting Head of Field Office, Madam Stella Folasade Abayomi; Deputy Sector Unity Commander, Colonel Adere Assefa Wakjira; and commanders from adjoining units in Sector Unity.
