Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) has held a graduation ceremony for Ninety-nine nursery children from Early Childhood and Development Centre at Whistler Barracks, Teshie, on Wednesday 24 July, 2024.

The young graduands marked the day with some colourful displays of rhyme recitals, bible quotations, modeling and received ‘rolls of honour’ certificates in gowns and caps at the school premises.

The ceremony which brought parents, guardians, friends and relatives together was themed: “Building a Solid Foundation of a Young Learner in the Digital Era”.

The Commanding Officer, TRADOC HQ Lt Col Kingsley Birikorang who was the Chairperson for the ceremony stated how grateful he was to the parents and teachers for accepting and making it possible for the ceremony to be held as it marks a great milestone in the lives of the little ones.

The Headmistress of the school, Emelia Tetteh in her welcome address, said the inadequacy of classrooms and huge number of pupils on enrolment has resulted in poor teacher to pupil ratio.

She commended the former Commanding Officer of TRADOC HQ, Lt Col Anthony Asiedu and the current Commanding Officer, Lt Col Birikorang for their respective roles in developing the school. She however appealed to authorities as well as benevolent organizations to help to develop the school through construction of classrooms and educational materials.

She entreated parents and guardians to eschew the habit of late arrival to pick their kids as it has the propensity of breeding insecurity. “Our dear parents let me draw your attention to the issue of Kidnapping. Instances where we allow different people to drop off and pick up our children, bad people like kidnappers can be of a threat to our children if we are not vigilant of those who drop and pick up our children”, she advised.
