The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Honourable Ebi Bright has lauded the Ghana Navy for its unwavering commitment to protecting the maritime domain of Ghana. She emphasised the crucial functions of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) since its inception, commending the proactive measures of the Navy in anti-piracy operations, maritime enforcement, and collaborative multinational exercises, which initiatives have positioned Ghana as a key maritime security player in the West African region. She made these remarks during the induction ceremony for the Flag Officer Command (FOC) ENC and the 1 Garrison Commander, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi on Sunday, 31 August 2025 at the Dei Arms Square, Naval Base Tema. Hon Bright congratulated Commodore Asiedu-Larbi and expressed confidence in his leadership and the Navy's operational capabilities to enhance the maritime security architecture of Ghana. In his inaugural address, Commodore Asiedu-Larbi affirmed his commitment to safeguarding the maritime interests of Ghana, tackling piracy and illegal fishing, and fostering closer collaboration with stakeholders.
