The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) School of Ordnance has held an opening ceremony for Senior Non-Commissioned Officer’s (SNCO) Second Half Courses at the School Headquarters on Friday 2 August, 2024.

The 24-weeks courses were designed to equip the scholars with the requisite knowledge and skills for excellence in logistics management and vocational training in GAF. The programme outline would focus more on store management, tailoring, and leather crafting, including Storeman Ordnance BI, Storeman General Duties BI, Tailoring BI, and Leather Works BI to meet GAF's human resource capacity.

The Guest of Honour and Director Material at the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Colonel Joseph Busy Kwame Boglo, in his address, admonished the students to be disciplined and eschew bad conduct since their career progression in GAF depends on these courses. He therefore urged them to make the necessary effort and strive for excellence.

The Commanding Officer of the school, Lieutenant Colonel Edna Antwi in her remarks, hinted that the increasing number of students is the result of the operationalization of new units within GAF. On that account, she requested the Military High Command to expedite the relocation of the school.

Lt Col Antwi expressed gratitude to the Commanding Officer of the Base Ordnance Depot, Lt Col Godfred Akyeampong and commended the staff of the school for their effortless support and hard work. She entreated the staff to offer their best to support the ongoing course.
