Sergent Theophilus Peter Asmah of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has been awarded the Best in Design Award at the 20th Edition of Accra Technical University Fashion Show at the National Theatre on Friday 2 August, 2024. In an interview with AFnews, Sergeant Asmah expressed excitement about winning the award, attributing the feat to dedication and hard work. He therefore Dedicated the award to the Chief of the Defence Staff and the whole GAF fraternity; and expressed hopes of tailoring military apparel and uniforms for GAF. Sergeant Asmah said the award, serves as a testament to the excellence of the military in areas beyond security, and shows the ability of personnel of GAF to excel not just in security and defence but in other areas of national interest and development. He continues that the time has come for GAF to rely on indigenous fashion hubs for the production of military uniforms and related apparel. Sergeant Theophilus Asmah the fashion enthusiast, holds a Higher National Diploma in Fashion Design and Textiles and hopes to attain the highest level of education in Fashion and Design. He was stationed at the Base Ordnance Depot (BOD) but is currently attached to the 37 Military Hospital as the Regimental Tailor.
