The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has conducted a joint graduation ceremony for Senior Command and Staff Course 44 as well as the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics Class of 2023. The graduation ceremony took place on Friday, 18 August 2023 at Otu Barracks in Teshie. A total of 85 Officers from the Ghana Armed Forces and 11 sister African countries successfully completed the course, earning a Passed Staff Course (psc) qualification. Among the graduands were 25 students from Benin, Botswana, La Cote d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Togo.
During his address at the ceremony, the Vice President and Chair of the Armed Forces Council, HE Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia, spoke highly of GAFCSC as a national and continental asset.

He commended the college for its continued dedication to providing exceptional military education to both Ghanaian and allied officers. Vice President Bawumia emphasized the importance of sustaining the College's achievements and encouraged exploration of new areas essential for national development. He assured the College of the government's unwavering support by allocating necessary funds for infrastructural expansion. Furthermore, he called upon individuals and institutions capable of offering assistance to generously contribute to the College's growth
Addressing the graduands, Vice President Bawumia urged them to maintain high standards in their future roles, embody exemplary leadership qualities, and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of military and global issues. He emphasized their role as torchbearers and ambassadors of GAFCSC.
The Commandant of the College, Major General (Maj Gen) Irvine Nii-Ayitey Aryeetey, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all past Commandants whose vision and hard work have cemented the institution as a true center of military and academic excellence. Maj Gen Aryeetey revealed exciting plans for the College, including the introduction of a Master's Programme in Security Studies and a PhD in Defence and International Politics this year.
